Wilkinsburg Community Gathered for Cookies, Hope, Love

What the world needs is more love.

The Bridge of Hope Love Cookies event, February 8, 2017, was designed to encourage, uplift, and focus families on the positive things happening in their community and their individual lives. While decorating cookies together, we engaged families and community residents in positive thought provoking exercises developed to shift the focus from despair and fear to hope and encouragement for the future.

And then, of course, we got to eat the cookies! (which never hurts our attitudes)

This event, like all the Bridge of Hope Community Gatherings, was intended, first, to bring members of the community together so that they see themselves as a community and, second, to focus their community identity in positive and proactive ways.

2017 Started with Bridge of Hope Community Gathering

The first Bridge of Hope Community Gathering of 2017 was the Brunch & Goal, held Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The Gathering was designed to help families and their children plan for the new year by encouraging them to establish personal, professional, and academic goals and objectives for 2017. It was a time of positive interaction, creative discussion, and collaborative thinking that we expect will lead to a renewed focus for the future. Plans were finalized and written and then placed in a time capsule that will be opened at the end of 2017.

At the Brunch & Goal Gathering, we also celebrated the achievements of 2016 while we encouraged everyone to reach higher and dream bigger in 2017! Even if you did not get to be part of this Brunch & Goal Gathering in January, you are welcome to come celebrate with us when we open the goal capsule in December!
